Terms of Use

The terms on which this site is provided.

Guidance, not advice

Everything on this site is general information about how UK and US payroll deductions work. It is not tax advice, financial advice or legal advice, and it is not a recommendation about your circumstances. We are not regulated to advise you and nothing here should be treated as though we were.

For anything consequential — a settlement, a large pension decision, a tax investigation, anything involving more than one country — speak to someone qualified.

Accuracy

Figures are computed from published rates and are checked by an automated test suite before every build. We take accuracy seriously and we mark clearly the places where a figure is not confirmed. Even so, rates change, published guidance is sometimes ambiguous, and individual circumstances vary in ways a calculator cannot model.

Your payslip, your employer's payroll and HMRC or the IRS are the authorities on what you actually owe. If this site disagrees with them, they are right and we would like to know about it.

Liability

This site is provided as it is, without warranty. We accept no liability for any loss arising from reliance on figures published here. That is a standard term and it is also a genuine statement of the position: a free calculator cannot underwrite your financial decisions.

Use of the site

You are welcome to use these pages, link to them, and quote figures from them with attribution. Automated scraping at a rate that degrades the service for other people is not welcome.

Changes

These terms and the figures on this site may change without notice, particularly around a Budget or the start of a tax year. The date each page was last checked is shown at the bottom of it.
